Discovery Bible Studies
Purpose
King’s Village Church was started for the purpose of equipping and empowering ordinary followers of Jesus to proclaim the message and extend the work of Jesus where they live, work, and play.
One of our main tools for that is called the Discovery Bible Study. These studies can be led by any Christian, anywhere, and with any group of people who are interested. The simple goal of each study is to explore two questions:
- Who is Jesus?
- What does it mean to follow Jesus?
These groups are not for teaching or preaching but for discovery and discussion. For that reason, they follow a simple outline that allows Scripture to speak for itself and gives everyone in the group a voice in the discovery process.

There are two ways to find a Bible study…
- The map at the bottom of this page shows our current groups. You can click on one and send a request to join that group. The group leader will reach out to you and get you started.
- Contact us through the link at the top of this page “Add Me to the Interest List” or through the contact link in the main menu bar and let us know you are interested in participating in a group. We are regularly starting new groups and will get you plugged into one of our next studies.
Most of our groups run every week for 10-12 meetings. The typical meeting runs about an hour and a half. It’s very important to commit to attending consistently to be exposed the full range of subject matter and experience the benefits of the relationships you will build.
Each group is typically hosted at someone’s home, though groups can be held at coffee shops, workplaces, etc. You will receive a list of Scripture passages or book that will be covered in the study, after which the host will facilitate a time of introductions and lead the group through the discussion questions for that day’s passage. After the first meeting, the person facilitating discussion can rotate each week.
Each study will work through a series of Scripture passages that are either selections from a particular book of the Bible or selections throughout the Bible that follow a certain theme or storyline. Occasionally, a study will work through a book that covers a topic on Scripture.
